As part of a collaboration between Cambridge City Council and Hill Investment Partnerships, CIP formed to develop sites that deliver affordable housing in the heart of Cambridge. Work is underway right now, turning brownfield land into a beautiful development.

This vast undertaking will bring a medley of stunning apartments and houses to the CB1 area.

Oteley Road, Sutton, Shrewsbury for Care UK

80 bed care home

When complete, the new Care UK site will provide permanent and short-term nursing and residential care, and specialist dementia care for up to 80 older people. AJM will be carrying out all mechanical works on this ambitious 80-bed care home development, sharing in Care UK’s mission to help older people “live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.”

As a not-for-profit housing association, Abbeyfield South Downs required 50 assisted living apartments, available for over 60’s to buy or rent.

Holdenhurst aims to “alleviate loneliness among older people” and we’re very pleased to have been involved in this exciting project, offering a broad spectrum of mechanical services to deliver cutting-edge facilities, energy-efficiency and supreme comfort.

Ewell Village, Surrey for Birchgrove

53 apartments

Set in the beautiful village of Ewell, Surrey, Birchgrove’s 53 high-quality assisted living apartments will feature the very best in contemporary design — making day-today living more comfortable, relaxing and easier. This modern development will comprise of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, and AJM will be providing the complete mechanical design and build solution.

The project reinforces Birchgrove’s commitment to develop a portfolio of stunning assisted living apartments, making places “that many different people can call home.” In addition to featuring elegant interiors, generous living spaces and sufficiently wide doors, residents will have access to ample onsite facilities such as a restaurant, café, club room, library, fitness suite and communal gardens.

Turvey Village, Turvey for Vistry and Inspired Villages

130 homes

We’ve teamed up with Vistry to meet the time, cost and quality requirements, supporting Inspired Villages in their ambitious project to deliver 130 age-appropriate homes in Turvey, as well as modern facilities for both residents and the local community. The village centre will include a restaurant, café, wellness centre (featuring a fitness studio, gym and pool area) and library, supporting regional growth at a time of heightened need.

Campkin Road for Hill

63 apartments and 6 houses

The Campkin Road accommodation will range from two bedroom houses through to one and two bedroom apartments, with buildings varying in height of between two and four storeys.

A new fully accessible community centre will also be located on the ground floor level of the north-western most building.

Colville Road for Hill Group

67 apartments

The development replaces two housing blocks containing 24 post war aging council homes with a much larger housing scheme and improved landscaping to help meet the housing need in the city.

The homes will be gas free – five years ahead of Government legislation - and include energy saving features such as wider cavity walls filled with denser insulation to reduce heat loss and energy bills; Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery which reduces the energy demand of the properties and carbon emissions; Communal Air Source Heat Pumps will serve the apartments with photovoltaic panels to offset the electricity used to power the heat pumps; green roofs; electric vehicle charging points, together with sustainable urban drainage system.
